Meet our Ambassadors

Avery Johnson
Avery Johnson is a former NBA player, coach, and sports broadcaster known for his leadership on and off the court. Nicknamed “The Little General,” the New Orleans native had a 16-season NBA career, most memorably leading the San Antonio Spurs to a 1999 championship. He later transitioned to coaching, earning NBA Coach of the Year after guiding the Dallas Mavericks to their first Western Conference Championship, and later helping revive the New Jersey Nets and leading the University of Alabama’s basketball program to an NCAA tournament appearance.
Beyond basketball, Johnson is an entrepreneur and sought-after motivational speaker, co-founding the minority-owned Allan Bailey Johnson Group, LLC, a national real estate advisory firm. He serves on several nonprofit boards in Dallas and remains active as a sports analyst for ESPN and CBS. Johnson holds a degree in psychology from Southern University, where he met his wife, Cassandra. They have two children, Christianne and Avery Jr., both graduates of the University of Pennsylvania and University of Alabama, respectively.
Jayson Werth
Jayson Werth is a former professional baseball player who played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for 15 years. He played for the Toronto Blue Jays (2002-2003), Los Angeles Dodgers (2004-2005), Philadelphia Phillies (2007-2010), and Washington Nationals (2011-2017). Werth was an All-Star in 2009 and helped the Phillies win the 2008 World Series. He is also recognized in the Washington Nationals’ Ring of Honor. After retiring from baseball, Werth transitioned to farming and horse racing, becoming a successful farmer on a 300-acre plot and co-owner of the horse Dornoch. Dornoch won the 2024 Belmont Stakes.


Kadi Findling
Kadi Findling is a venture capitalist, investor, entrepreneur, and former professional athlete. She currently serves as Vice President at Stony Lonesome Group, a Tampa-based venture capital firm focused on dual-use and defense technology, and is a Venture Partner with several VC/PE firms.
An entrepreneur at heart, Kadi founded the tech startup myCoffeePass and co-founded another venture, bringing her passion for innovation and leadership into the startup world.
Before entering venture capital, Kadi was a two-time national champion in women’s professional football. She played as the starting cornerback for the Seattle Mist, earning All-Fantasy Team honors, and as starting quarterback for the Austin Legends. Her athletic career also includes collegiate softball at BYU Hawaii.
Deeply committed to mentorship and community, Kadi served as Co-Chair at StartOut for over six years and continues to mentor founders through various organizations, universities, and local high schools.
